Medical Marijuana: Certified to Recommend

Dr. Zeeshan Tayeb, Chief Medical Officer of Pain Specialists of Cincinnati (Interventional outpatient Pain Clinic) has received the “certification to recommend” Medical Marijuana in the State of Ohio.

Those in the Cincinnati area will soon have a new potential remedy to treat chronic pain and potentially lessen the opioid burden to those who experience the qualifying conditions.

Medical marijuana is a new alternative for those seeking relief to chronic pain in the state of Ohio. Studies overtime have shown that medical marijuana is a relatively non-addictive alternative to narcotics and can help curb the opioid epidemic. Along with pain, sleep and mood have been known to improve with the use of medical marijuana. Pain Specialists of Cincinnati is scheduled to start qualifying patients for medical marijuana later this fall.

Physicians can start recommending in the state of Ohio on September 9, 2018 but we know that the Medical Marijuana Control Program is continuing to refine the program.
